ABOUT

Sandlot Southwest is a 5,000-square-foot open-air cultural arts & event space built from the ground up in partnership with Absolut, Sunbelt Rentals & Lyft, located directly across the street from Audi Field at Buzzard Point in Southwest, DC. The inspiration of the project originated in 2018 when Ian Callender, Owner of Suite Nation, and childhood friend and business ally Kevin Hallums of Rock Creek Social Club, both of whom are D.C. natives, wanted to commemorate the 25th anniversary of one of their favorite movies, “The Sandlot.” Additionally, Ricardo Hallums, Cousin of Kevin Hallums, has also invested in the project citing an opportunity for locals to engage in an environment unknown to most, but known by few; the DC Native.

MRP Realty, developers of commercial, residential, mixed-use, and industrial real estate across the Mid-Atlantic region, partnered with building owner Marty Chernoff & Suite Nation to create the community event space at the future site of MRP’s mixed-use development. Sandlot Southwest will offer regular food & beverage experiences mixed with music, arts & culture through the end of summer on a limited schedule. The entire 1800 Block of Half Street SW where we are located will be demolished and redeveloped starting in September 2020. Please visit our Instagram and the schedule below for up to date hours of operation.
